Initial Reunion Details: Save the dates

May, 2012    (revised 6/17/12)
Atlantic High School Class of ’72  40th Reunion

Dear Alumni:

The Reunion ‘committee’ is working hard on our 40th (yes, 40th!!) reunion for the Class of 1972! Please SAVE THE DATES!  The confirmed dates and venues are:
* October 19th/ Friday night Cocktail Party- Boheme Bistro on Atlantic Ave
* October 20th/ Saturday night Dinner/Dance -Old School Square (Delray Elementary Gym)
* October 21st/Sunday afternoon Bar-B-Q -Lake Ida Park (near Playhouse)

Our immediate priority is to find all our alumni, (this includes any part of our class even if not part of graduation!).   We need E-mail,  + mailing addresses, to invite and get a count of how many plan to attend.  There are close to 100 on the Atlantic High School Class of ’72 Facebook page so we are expecting a nice group.  Please send ANY e-mail addresses or any info you may have for any alumni (Classmates only – no graduating isn’t a problem but must have been a member of the Class of ’72 at some point during their school years) to: AHS40@live.com

We are still working on final cost, but the price will be no more than $150 for all three events (which will include everything).  Individual event prices will be available, too.  A hotel list is also included.

We always need help finding people.  Please help w/ addresses or offer to help via internet!

There will be another reunion booklet, designed by fellow classmate and artist, Paul Aho.  Please consider advertising your business or buying a spot to say a few words.

Follow-up letter will go out in the next month or so with confirmed prices, a ‘What’s up?’ questionnaire, and information about sponsoring the booklet.

There is a Facebook page (Atlantic High School 1972 Reunion 2012), and ‘Event’ tab from this FB page as well.  Also for those who don’t ‘do’ FaceBook there is a web site (ahs72.wordpress.com).  Please check in with these sites to stay up to date.  Any questions just post or contact one of us.

We need volunteers for the weekend, so please contact the committee chairs and sign up:
*Hospitality:  Cheryl (Pompey)HowardCZPAKA@bellsouth.net
*Décor & set-up:  Marie (Davenport) Burchellmburthell@bellsouth.net
*Booklet:  Marianne Locklar Hammock & Tom Shoemaker – marilock@ymail.com & Thomasshoemaker@bellsouth.net

Looking forward to a great party weekend!  Please confirm ASAP either on FB, by e-mail to anyone on the committees, or to:  Atlantic High School 40th Reunion, PO Box 4252, Boynton Bch., FL  33424-4252 As Soon As Possible (it will help w/ the cost figures!) if you plan to attend.

About Atlantic High School 72 Reunion 2012 Delray Beach FL

Atlantic High School was born from the consolidation of two great high schools - Seacrest High School and Carver High School. The class of 1972 was the first "official" class to graduate from Atlantic High School due to the previous class having the option to list Seacrest, Carver or Atlantic on their diploma. Suddenly, it's time for our 40th reunion. Where did the time go? We want everyone to attend this reunion (still in the planning stages). But, finding classmates, especially 40 years later, even with today's technology, is very difficult: names change, people move and we know at least 40 have passed away. So, EVERY member of AHS 72 is automatically a member of the "search and find" committee. Serioulsy. If you even think you know where a classmate may be - call them! If you know a member of a classmates family - call them!
